Made by French Master Luthier Maurice Dupont, this model MD100 guitar is a faithful reproduction of the second generation French Selmer gypsy swing guitars made following the departure of house designer Macafferi. In the quest for greater projection and volume the ‘petit bouche’ design, with its distinctive '0' shape sound hole, came to be used by may of the great players of the genre, most notably perhaps by Django Reinhardt himself.
Maurice Dupont creates exceptional reproductions of these immediately recognisable guitars. Beautifully crafted and a joy to play. For French 'authenticity' you can do no better. C'est Magnifique!
- Back and sides in laminated Sapele wood
- French spruce top
- Mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard
