This Gibson Custom Shop Harlem Slim signature acoustic's motif is the 1926 GIBSON L-1, which was used by Robert Johnson. THIS GUITAR HAS SEEN VERY LITTLE PLAY. (I bought it with dreams of becoming the next Robert Johnson but...in its case and under the bed it went.)
HARLEM SLIM is a masterful guitar player/performer who also taught Delta Blues guitar for years at Houston's Fuller's Vintage Guitar.
This specially commissioned Harlem Slim Gibson Custom Shop guitar is the real deal for Delta Blues and beyond.
The body top is spruce, the sides and back are mahogany, the neck is mahogany, and the fingerboard and bridge are rosewood.
The original Kluson-style triple tuning pegs work nicely.
The frets are like new, and the fingerboard surface is awesome.
The Harlem Slim signature projects player- and crowd-pleasing box resonance. More than its vintage Gibson L-1 size may lead you to suspect.
As a commemorative model, it has a paper label with a portrait of Harlem Slim and a serial number.
This beautiful instrument is ideal for Delta Blues and other finger-picking blues.
The original vintage L-1 is SUUUUPER PRICEY and difficult to obtain.
This Harlem Slim model is based on the original vintage L-1 but at about 1/3 the price! Ideal for everything from bluesy fingerpicking to stroke and slide playing.
Comes with its original hard case.
