This is a Pre-War 1929 Martin 00-21 with a 1920 Martin 00-21 NECK slimmed down to a modern profile to make it easier to play. I still have the original 1929 neck but it already had an incorrect classical guitar fretboard attached (see photos). The 1920 neck was rescued from an unsalvageable 1920 body. I've enjoyed playing this guitar for many years but it’s mostly unplayed since covid. The repair tech did a great job of reprofiling the 1920 neck and adding a new period-correct fretboard. You can see faint lines of the original neck where the heel meets the body. This guitar was inspected by a local instrument tech who specializes in vintage flat top and archtop guitars. His assessment is that 1920 re-neck was professionally done, the bridge plate is original but at some point the body was refinished. The pyramid bridge was replaced with a shorter one to accommodate the closer string spacing of the narrower neck. It sounds like a prewar but easier to play. No cracks but a little smoosh on the lower bout/bass side. Yes, the finish is worn slightly at the rosette but mostly cosmetic. Comes with custom Cedar Creek Tweed case made for this guitar.
