1930s Regal - First National Institute of Allied Arts - Guitar

For your consideration, a neat little Regal-built parlor guitar from The First National Institute for Allied Arts!  This was one of the first group lesson businesses in the United States. A person would sign up for 40 weeks of group instrument lessons at $1.25 per week and would be given a student instrument to use through the lesson program. At the end of the course, you could trade your loaner instrument in for a brand new one. Not bad! 

This guitar is in mostly original shape. One replaced row of tuners and a few typical structural repairs on this one, with no signs of abuse. It's a survivor, and we left it in farm-fresh condition. It would need some work to be a usable playable guitar, but as it sits it is great for slide guitar, or would make a terrific decoration or art piece. It's a cool piece of history!
