Steinberger XP-2A Headless Bass 1988 • Red • Active EMGs • Restored
Serial Number N7166

This XP-2A came out of a room in a house that had a leaky roof for a long time. It was never underwater but had humidity damage to the original finish and hardware.

Bass has been professionally refinished. The paint was hand mixed to come as close as possible to the original red. We purposely left the markings within the body routings alone.

All hardware had the original black removed and was professionally Cerakoted. Which is a ceramic coating more durable than powdercoat or paint. Unfortunatly not much can be done about the pitting itself, but its a lot harder to see and it was imperative to keep everything original. The matte black looks great.

In the four years since restoration there are a couple small wear marks on the bottom feet and some very light (hard to see) indentations in the clear coat on the back from resting on it's gig bag right after paint.

Bass plays great, active EMGs sound huge, and has no fret wear.
Ships in a new Headless gigbag, and I will send along the icky original bag if the new owner wants it.
