This QWERTY Keyboard translates it's USB input to Midi out for a total of 3 Octaves. Takes up less room on stage or in the studio than a conventional keyboard. I made this as a bit of a thought experiment, but thought I should pass it along to someone that can use it for a practical application. Info as follows:
Includes:
QWERTY Keyboard
Converter Box
Power Adapter
Color Code Keys
Converter box has a USB "B" type input, comes with USB "A" type to "B" type adapter to connect the keyboard (works with the included keyboard, doesn't work with all keyboard brands). Also has a Power Input, Midi Output Jack and Reset Button (when you power on, you push this button to get it to 'shake hands' with the keyboard - sometimes it takes a couple of times). Keyboard keys transmit On/Note Off output (velocity is always 110) over a 3 Octave range (as follows - see picture):
Octave 1 - Green
Octave 2 - Pink
Octave 3 - Orange
"C" 1 Octave above Octave 3 - Yellow (space bar)
Backspace is "all notes off" in the event of sticking key
Keyboard is at minimum duophonic, and sometimes more notes depending on which combinations are pushed.
