This is a wonderful example of an all original 1960 Gretsch 6122 Country Gent that's been enjoyed most of its life. It has a distinctive see-thru Walnut stain over a very figured maple Top example. Its headstock features the Gretsch T logo, its serial # is stamped into the headstock plaque dated to 1960. It's got Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlaid rosewood fingerboard, a set of powerful Filter'trons, gold hardware & gold plastic pickup bezels, Gold lucite'gard, G's w/gold knobs. It's sporting a set of Grover Imperial tuners. It's got its metal Bigsby bridge & saddle & its cool "V" Cutout Bigsby vibrato. What makes this early Gent so special is that on the 1st few years of production, Chet had the F-holes filled w/these plastic inserts to keep all the sound inside its body. It's been refretted w/a new fingerboard binding that's better than new. It's truly excellent in all respects w/perfect body bindings all over. She comes complete w/its clean original gray tolex maroon lined hard case.
