This black Ibanez GIO GSA60 was built in 2010 in the Cort factory in Indonesia. It is still being produced today and belongs to the Ibanez entry-level series.
The thin body, perfectly balanced ergonomically, sits comfortably against the body. The tremolo is currently set resting on the body, but it can be switched back to floating.
We leveled the frets, which – as with most entry-level guitars – was necessary. Now it really plays great, and with its typically slim Ibanez neck profile it’s a shredder dream.
Sound:
The bridge humbucker sounds a bit mid-focused, but usable.
The singlecoils sound – especially in the in-between positions – thin, but pleasantly Strat-like.
The guitar shows signs of play, but no major dings or dongs.
