An early Frist Year Mustang Bass. Factory Dakota Red Finish, String Through Slab Body, September 1966 Neck Date, Pearloid Pickguard, Maple Neck with Rosewood Fingerboard, and Lollipop Tuners. A First Run Mustang Bass that features the early Fender Factory improvised Headstock Logo. Before the Fender Mustang Bass logos were finalized the earliest Mustang Bass examples would receive either a Factory applied clipped "Fender" logo or like this example, a Fender Mustang guitar Logo with the added "Bass" from a clipped Bass V logo. The bass displays lots of honest play wear with areas of wear through the clear coat, nicks, finish checking, and scratches. Overall Good Vintage Condition. The Neck is nice and straight and the pickup is very healthy with a 10.06 ohm output. A mostly original bass with some newer screws, repro handrest, and new volume pot. Included is a newer hardshell case.
