The MOSFET Mojo is a one-knob boost hand built in point-to-point style. It uses a MOSFET transistor which many people consider to produce a more "tube-like" tone. It has the ability to add a lot of volume (up to approx. 20-25 db depending on whether it is pushing other pedals or the amp into clipping).
At lower settings of the boost knob (under about 12:00) it is fairly clean, and starts to get some grit at the higher settings.
Includes both a powder coated aluminum back plate, and a plexiglass back plate. Uses 9V DC center negative power supply (not included).
It's extremely versatile for a one knob pedal. Some common uses are:
- Put it at the front of your signal chain (pre-amp) and set the boost level to low-mid setting as an always-on boost to add some sparkle to your tone.
- Use after distortion pedals to act as a volume boost/solo boost.
- Use into the front end of an amp set to edge of breakup to send it into clipping, or before distortion pedals for a similar effect.
