Ivison Hurricane ’59 SN #5915. Neil Ivison’s interpretation of the iconic 1959 Les Paul “Burst” is engaging in every way. The look, tone, feel, and playability of these instruments is amazing. The aging on these is tastefully done; it looks like it has years of play but attentively cared for. The coloring on the Aged Cherry Burst finish is on point. It has the appearance of an old guitar in which the aniline dye has started fading. This particular Hurricane ’59 comes with a Spanish Cedar neck which, as Neil puts it, “Rings like a bell.” It has a classic and sophisticated look all its own as the player looks down on the incredibly comfortable and inviting ’59 neck carve. To top it off, the guitar only weighs 8 lbs. 3 oz. so you get the Burst bliss without the back pain!

In Neil Ivison’s words, “In an ongoing quest toward classic late 50s tone, the Hurricane '59 takes the Hurricane shape, utilises 50s construction techniques, adds some familiar '59 appointments and edges ever closer to the hallowed 'Burst' spec.”
