1968 Vintage Rickenbacker 370-12 Mapleglo Finish Feb/68

For sale is a Vintage Rickenbacker 370-12 string in a Mapleglo Finish weighing 7.8 pounds that came from the factory in February of 1968 (HB-301). This is the model made popular by Roger McGuinn in the BYRDS era and beyond. This piece is exceptionally clean for its age and had at one time been owned by Roger McGuinn and then gifted to Chris Hillman, the original bassist of The Byrds. I am the seventh owner of this Guitar and have a letter of Provenance and documentation outlining it's history over the past 50 years. This Guitar left the Factory as a 360-12 but along its journey from McGuinn to Hillman to Tommy Hagen, it was fitted with a third middle pickup and the upper bout of the pickguard was replaced to one that was factory routed for the middle pickup prior to my acquisition. Hagen who was with Sam Ash in White Plaines, NY acquired the Guitar during Dylan's Rolling Thunder Tour performance at Madison Square Gardens.

There are some small blemishes including a few small dings and dents, a few lacquer checking lines and some light worm marks and buckle rash as shown in photos 18 thru 24. Please check these pics out for condition. This Rickenbacker plays better than any Rick 12-string I've owned. The neck is straight with very low action and the electronics are perfect. The original set-up on this guitar was done by renowned Master Luthier, Mark Lacey when I lived in Los Angeles back in the late 70's and it has remained in this state all these years later. I'm including a New set of Rickenbacker strings and all the documentation for its next owner.

Bottom line: This is an exceptional Vintage guitar with a long history that captures all the jangly vibes of the 60's and plays effortlessly. This would make a great addition for any BYRD'S fan, player, collector or Rickenbacker enthusiast.
