Restored Olson AM-358 Integrated Amplifier
26 capacitors replaced. 2 main power supply capacitors upgraded from 1,000uf 50 volt to 1,500uf 50volt replacements. 4 Power transistors removed and new thermal compound reapplied for better heat dissipation.
All switches and potentiometers cleaned and lubricated.
Wooden case repaired (re-glued)
Entire unit including knobs and covers cleaned.
***It appears three knob covers were missing with this unit and the center point was marked with a large circle (see photos).***
Tested for over 40 hours with no issues.
Restored February 2025
When I first obtained this amplifier the case had fallen apart from poor packaging (not enough packing material) in the shipping box. It "motorboated" in the right channel making it unusable. All electrolytic capacitors were replaced and wooden case was repaired. I wasn't able to find out anything on the internet (it is a rare unit) but in my estimate would be about 5-8 watts per channel. It has "Tuner" and "Phono" inputs only (see photos).
