The Epiphone 1963 Les Paul SG Custom with Maestro Vibrola captures a unique moment in guitar history—when elegance, innovation, and sonic versatility converged. Built in partnership with Gibson™ Custom, this model recreates the final year that the SG carried the “Les Paul” name and the first year the now-iconic Maestro Vibrola was introduced.

Finished in a subtle Vintage Original Sheen (VOS) Classic White, the instrument exudes vintage sophistication. Gold hardware, a bound headstock with a custom split-diamond inlay, and mother-of-pearl block fretboard markers reflect the high-end styling that defined the SG Custom in the early ’60s.

The body is constructed from two-piece solid mahogany with a center seam, and the one-piece mahogany neck features a long neck tenon for improved sustain and resonance. The SlimTaper™ profile makes for a fast, comfortable playing experience, while the ebony fretboard offers a smooth, articulate response.

Tonally, this SG is incredibly versatile thanks to its triple Gibson Custombucker humbucking pickups, each delivering rich, dynamic tones. Whether you’re looking for warm, singing neck tones, balanced and articulate middle position textures, or the cutting clarity of the bridge pickup, this guitar responds with depth and precision. Hand-wired electronics using CTS® potentiometers, Mallory™ capacitors, and a Switchcraft® toggle and output jack ensure reliability and a vintage-correct signal path.

The Maestro Vibrola tailpiece adds expressive capability, from subtle pitch modulation to classic surf-style vibrato, while maintaining tuning stability with Grover® Rotomatic tuners.
