This Taylor Custom Shop C12e 12-Fret Grand Concert from the 2025 Catch Event #10 — dubbed The Monument by the expert luthiers at Taylor — is a visual and tonal standout, masterfully blending exotic tonewoods and refined Art Deco elegance. Built with uncommon materials and designed with exquisite aesthetic detail, this instrument pairs solid black limba back and sides with a tight-grained sinker cypress top, reclaimed from old-growth logs submerged for decades. The result is a uniquely balanced tone that offers clear treble, warm low-end presence, and exceptional dynamic range.
Its 12-fret Grand Concert design and 24-7/8" scale length create a warm, responsive character that lends itself beautifully to fingerstyle, light strumming, and intimate solo performances. Inside, Taylor’s V-Class bracing enhances volume, sustain, and pitch accuracy. A custom shaded edgeburst coats the gloss-finished body, paired with a satin-finished neck and visually stunning window-pan shading around the cocobolo and ebony backstrip. Cocobolo also graces the body binding, heel cap, and soundhole purfling, while custom Euro Deco inlays in boxwood and cocobolo adorn the ebony fretboard and peghead. Fitted with an LR Baggs Element VTC pickup and Taylor satin black tuners with cocobolo/ebony buttons, this guitar is equally suited for stage and studio. It includes a Taylor deluxe brown hardshell case for premium protection; available now at Haggerty’s music.
