Gibson’s catalog famously calls the J-200 the “King of the Flat Top Guitars” — and this example lives up to the title. A timeless instrument with real charm and character, this J-200 wears its age beautifully and is in very good overall condition.

The guitar has been thoughtfully upgraded by the previous owner, a Nashville singer-songwriter and producer who purchased it from Carter’s Vintage Guitars. Work was performed at Scale Model Guitars in Nashville (receipts totaling $1,150 included), and includes:

•       Professionally replaced saddle, nut, and frets

•       Rebuilt bridge plate

•       Original brass adjustable saddle swapped for a bone saddle (original saddle included in the case)

•Small, professionally executed repair to the lower side by Carter’s Vintage Guitars

These improvements brought new life to the instrument, enhancing playability and tone while preserving its vintage soul.

The natural top paired with dark flame maple back and sides makes this one a stunner visually as well as sonically. The action is low and easy under the fingers, and strummed open it delivers a rich, resonant voice — loud, balanced, and well suited to just about any style you throw at it.

Also added is an LR Baggs Anthem hybrid pickup system (mic-based), and the guitar has seen countless live performances and studio sessions. Comes with the original hard case.
