This collection of guitars pays homage to the remarkable legacy of Taylor founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug, celebrating their significant contributions to the art of guitar-making. Each model in this series reflects Bob Taylor's early influences and showcases his groundbreaking design innovations, capturing the spirit and craftsmanship that have defined Taylor's journey in the world of music.

The Taylor Guitars Legacy Collection commemorates 50 years of groundbreaking musical craftsmanship and innovation. This special series launches with five acoustic models that pay tribute to Taylor's rich heritage. Three of these models are reimagined versions of rosewood/spruce guitars from the iconic 800 Series, which trace their origins to some of Bob Taylor’s earliest creations. The other two models spotlight the Grand Auditorium body style, a signature design that has come to define the modern Taylor sound.  

Drawing inspiration from Bob Taylor’s original builds, these retrospective guitars embody the essence of Taylor’s history by blending foundational design principles with key advancements developed over the years. To mark this milestone, the first 100 guitars of each model will include an interior label personally signed by Taylor founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug, adding a unique touch of authenticity and legacy to these exceptional instruments.

**Legacy 855e**  

The Legacy 855e pays tribute to one of Bob Taylor’s most influential designs, showcasing the classic Jumbo body shape crafted with rosewood and spruce. Known for their groundbreaking playability, Bob’s 12-string guitars helped establish Taylor's reputation, and this model captures the essence of those early innovations. Combining the warm, balanced tonal qualities of rosewood and spruce with rich overtones and shimmering octave harmonics, this 12-string offers a truly unique playing experience not found elsewhere in the Taylor lineup. Its comfortable neck profile and expertly calibrated string setup continue to set the benchmark for 12-string playability.  

This non-cutaway acoustic-electric guitar features X-bracing, a signature voicing technique Bob Taylor used for years, delivering exceptional tonal depth and projection. Vintage-inspired aesthetic elements include a mustache-style bridge, straight-ear peghead, and white binding, complemented by a three-ring rosette in green abalone. Additional details include non-engraved Large Diamond fretboard inlays made of mother-of-pearl, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, nickel tuning machines, and a gloss-finished body and neck. Together, these design features create a timeless instrument that honors Taylor’s legacy while offering modern players a premium 12-string experience.
