Vintage 1960’s Teisco Northland Canadiana III Tube Amp Purple Tolex Tremolo RARE

Super rare amp. Picked this up in Toronto when I lived there (2010-2012). Planned on keeping it as a souvenir strictly for the name alone but I haven’t been playing it and am “thinning the herd” as they say.

This is a tremolo tube amp presumably made by Teisco for the Canadian market. The purple tolex is really cool with silver sparkle thread and black squiggly lines throughout. The back panel was missing when I got this so I made one and mixed up some paint to match the purple as close as I could.

The amp has a 10” speaker and 5 tubes:

(3) 6AV6

(1) 6AQ5

(1) 6A4

Amp has an updated 3 prong cord and I’m guessing based on output volume that it’s only 2-3 watts.

Amp powers up and passes signal and the tremolo appears to work when first switched on but slowly dissipates. Tone works as it should. Volume is pretty much all or nothing. Amp has pretty low volume overall even when dimed but still sounds great. Video demo was just taken today (April 21, 2025) showing current condition and sound. I do have an older video from last year where it seemed to perform a bit better. Search “Northland Canadiana Amp” and I’m sure you’ll find it.

This is a very rare amp and I haven’t found any others with this name. I do have a very similar Teisco Exrpess 5 Amp for sale as well and have often thought about taking the chassis from that and putting it into this amp. They are both the same size cabs and appear to be similar chassis size as well. I’m going to make a listing for these 2 amps together as a package deal but figured I’d list this separately in case anyone is interested. The Teisco Express 5 amp has been listed separately for a while now.

Anyway, super cool amp. Rare to find these purple tolex amps. I have a Beltone Echo Box in this purple tolex (not for sale) and have seen some other Beltone and Teisco made amps with the purple tolex but they are pretty uncommon.

Listed as FAIR condition as it does work but will need some TLC to bring back to full working glory.

I will remove tubes for shipping and have them marked clearly.
