As the only non-cutaway Jumbo in the Taylor lineup, this model stands out with its rich tonal depth and vintage-inspired appointments. Crafted with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, the 815e projects a commanding, orchestral voice—rich lows, crisp highs, and a scooped midrange—supported by traditional X-bracing with relief rout. The gloss-finished neo-tropical mahogany neck and modern Taylor profile ensure exceptional fretting comfort, while details like the mustache-style ebony bridge, rosewood peghead veneer, and abalone inlays recall Bob Taylor’s earliest builds.
