The solid state LOMOs don't get as much attention as their older tube siblings, but the UM51s are excellent sounding with a surprisingly warm tone and currently very hard to find in this country (people who buy them, keep them).

This one is from the early 80s (I think 1981). I bought it 18 years back from a Ukrainian friend and used it often on a variety of sources. The 8a5 capsule that comes with this UM51 is a medium diaphragm (same as the LOMO 19a4) with a wider Cardioid pattern. I have seen additional capsules of varying sizes and patterns that would increase the UM51's possible uses for sale on Reverb.

Though a lot of folk convert these to run on Phantom Power, my friend built an upgraded PSU that makes this mic perform better and cleaner than either a Phantom conversion or the original LOMO PSU. It operates at 220 volts but, included is a 115 US adaptor.

Cosmetically, everything is in good shape and sounds excellent. Included in this sale:

The UM51 w/8a5 Capsule

The cable to connect it to the PSU

The Power Supply with US adaptor

If local, you are welcome to demo it at my home.

I will ship it domestically at the actual cost.

PM me if you have any questions. Thanks
