Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

Here's a unique and somewhat obscure Shure mic with excellent sound quality. The Shure model SM-59 dynamic cardioid microphone set at 150 OHMS / Low Z w 15 to 50,000 HZ. It has a warm rich tone that you'll really appreciate and it comes with a nice Audix brand mic clip.

Pic # 2 is from a catalog I have showing the SM-59's characteristics and general use. It was ideal for public speaking as well as broadcasting and these also happens to make superb guitar amp mics. The SM-59 is not a well known model today but was a very high quality build with a rugged construction. Interestingly enough the SM-59 happen to be a favorite mic of disgraced Evangelical T.V star Jim Bakker back in the day while performing live.

These SM-59 model mics make fantastic guitar amp mics by the way.

Pic # 3 shows a side by side between an SM59 and a Shure SM58 of that time which gives you a perspective on the differences between the two. The SM-59 has excellent uni-directional characteristics.

Pic # 4 shows Geddy Lee (lead singer of The band RUSH) using an SM-59 live in concert.

The Shure SM59 mic sold by Shure for about 10 or 15 years before being discontinued. It has a very unique look with a longer head than most hand held mics you see typically. A very lite weight all metal body with a silver painted finish. It has a specific 1980's early 90's look that's a bit more bold that the typical stick mic sold today or even then.

These mics are built like tanks and can be handheld or placed in a mic clip.

As you can see there are typical signs of wear on the mic itself. The original painted finish shows quite a few scuff marks and tiny scratches from being handled for so many years but there are zero dents or fractures on the mic. The Shure label looks very good as well with lite wear but completely legible. The globe and screens are free of any dents, odors or tarnish. This mic has very nice new foam inserts (pop filter) in the front and side grill that helps greatly with sound performance. Mic is 100% complete and solid.  No loose parts.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES.

This example is an easy 6 + on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event. It takes your standard XLR cable which is not included but easy to come by.

The clip is not original but grips the mic firmly. It's a new Audix brand mic clip that looks and works excellent. It will screw on to any American desk or floor stand and it compliments the SM-59 nicely. It has a the practical thumb screw on the side to get as much tension as needed.

It's not the prettiest SM-59 out there but it's not too bad looking either and it works like new.

                          And as always...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy.
