Description

With its lightning-fast 7-piece Wizard neck and stunning poplar burl top, the Ibanez Premium RGT1221PB is a showstopping speed demon. An American basswood body provides a balanced tone, and a gorgeous ebony fretboard — punctuated with jumbo stainless-steel frets — sings out with lively projection and miles of sustain. The Ibanez RGT1221PB's DiMarzio Air Norton and Tone Zone humbuckers are voiced for metal, brimming with aggression and ready to howl. Toneshapers delight in the dyna-MIX 10 switching system, which offers extensive control over the sound of this formidable axe. On top of that, the Ibanez RGT1221PB features a Mono-rail bridge, which feels exceptionally comfortable under your picking hand when palm muting. All this adds up to a solidbody electric that's a rock 'n' rolling, metal-making machine.

Iconic Wizard neck offers high-speed playability

Since its invention, the Wizard neck profile has been an Ibanez hallmark. And you'll find the third-generation Wizard III on the Ibanez RGT1221PB solidbody electric guitar. Its incredibly thin contour is a favorite among speed-happy players, as it allows unfettered movement up and down the fretboard. And its maple/walnut construction provides a stable neck while offering increased sustain and tonal attack.

DiMarzio humbuckers are made for metal

There’s no denying the massive range of tone that you can get out of the Ibanez RGT1221PB's duo of DiMarzio pickups. First, there’s the DiMarzio Tone Zone at the bridge — a hot humbucker with a super-wide dynamic range. It’s a perfect complement to the RGT1221PB 's DiMarzio Air Norton at the neck, which is deep, warm, and remarkably clean, with just the right amount of brightness for chimey chord work. Beyond that, Ibanez's dyna-MIX 10 switching system provides 10 different pickup combinations via a mini-toggle and 5-way blade switch. Whatever tone you're hearing in your head, the RGT1221PB can achieve it.

Fixed bridge stability for rock-solid tuning

The Ibanez Premium RGT1221PB sports a fixed Mono-rail bridge, which gives you the peace of mind that comes from rock-solid tuning stability. From standard to lowered tunings, your guitar's pitch will remain more stable, and the string tension will feel more consistent. Changing tunings during a gig goes much faster, compared to messing with a vibrato bridge and dealing with locking nuts. Many players also attribute greatly increased sustain and a fatter overall tone to the way hardtail bridges transfer the string's energy directly to the guitar's body.
