There are 2-3 areas that need repaired on the bowl back. 3rd photo shows one area on that side. The last photo #10 shows the other side in need of repair.
It is a vintage/antique bowl back mandolin for a repair project. In need of some repairs I am not capable of performing. I have no case.
Either missing a paper logo that was inside or it never had one.
I have absolutely no idea, the maker or the age of this mandolin. I normally don't deal in instruments quite this old. If someone is knowledgable as to what I have here, it would be great to hear from you.
The body top is not perfectly flat in a couple spots. There is a low spot (warpage) just past the right side of the sound hole. The center of the top is starting to cave, directly under the center of the bridge.
There are 3 cracks on the body top. Photos 7, 8, 9.
Only crack needing repair is on the body top, right next to the fretboard (where the neck is glued to the body top). The other two cracks are hardly noticed and were made by the pickguard shrinkage. Located at far left side of pickguard and far right side of pickguard. 2 inch vertical hairline cracks.
