Up for sale is this beautiful vintage Ibanez 2453 – a rare 1973 "lawsuit era" ES-335 style guitar made in Japan.
This model is essentially Ibanez’s take on the Gibson ES-335, but with a twist: it’s fully hollow like an ES-330, offering that open, resonant tone with incredible warmth, clarity, and air. Unlike most of Japanese 335-style guitars of the era, this one features a neck-through-body design — not just for better sustain and sleek feel, but as a testament to the high level of craftsmanship Ibanez was achieving in the early '70s.
This beauty is 100% all original — down to the last screw — and includes the original hardshell case. It’s equipped with the original Super 70s Humbucker pickups, which sound phenomenal: warm, articulate, and full of vintage character.
The action is super low, and the guitar plays effortlessly. It’s also exceptionally lightweight, thanks to the fully hollow construction — a dream for long sessions or gigs.
At 52 years old, this is hands-down the cleanest example we’ve ever seen. Aside from one tiny scratch (shown in the close-up photo), this guitar is in near museum-grade condition.
Whether you're a collector or a player chasing a vintage guitar with serious playability, this Ibanez 2453 is a VERY RARE and special find.
