This has been my personal guitar for a very long time. It has been played on many of my records. Love the look of this guitar. The White bindings have turned into a beautiful amber gold color. This guitar is just so cool looking...It came from a Touring Iowa Musician and as you can see, it was played...a lot...but well cared for... It was a Factory 2nd as evidenced by the 2 at the top of the Headstock on the back. It has a wood imprefection on the top as shown in pic 4. Its not a scratch, its in the wood. Looks pretty cool I think...Only player dings after that and of course, the headstock repair. What a great job the luthier did on this repair. Hard to see if unless you are looking closely. See pic 12. …Only a crack, it was not a headstock break off. Not bad at all!
What a looker! The frets are still in great shape. We gave them some attention. Check those pics… It plays as good as it looks. Great setup with new 9’s that just sing with the Gibson Mini Humbuckers…Plays with whisper close action that is a joy to play.
The guitar is mostly original. Only the pickguard was replaced. The original was missing. From there its original to include the Solid Maple Body, Mahogany neck with a medium-round profile, 1 11/16” wide nut, Rosewood fret-board,, and large inlays. Tuners, Pickups and surrounds, three way switych and wiring harness and pots... When I got it, it didn't have a pickguard. I never use one but bought a new one and had it installed for the new owner. Take it off if you don't like it. It looks great! Yes??
The guitar weighs 9 lbs 2 ozs, has a 24 1/2 inch scale neck and the nut measures 1 11/16 inches wide. We dated the 52 year old guitar from one of the pots. See pic 19. The Serial number on these 70's guitars are no help.
The only malady besides the neck crack repair. See pic 12. Otherwise, this guitar is in beautiful shape. I have loved it for years and its time to get it a new home. Is that you??
Check out the cool original Black with Purple Plush Gibson Branded Case! Its been around but all latches, hinges and original handle are still with it. Even the back restraint strap and accessory box and lid are still with the cool case. The beautiful purple plush is a little loose at the butt end but its all there and in very good shape for a 52 year old case! Check those pics!
Beautiful but used so its sold as is no returns. Thanks for respecting that.
