Danelectro Convertible Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Black

Serial Number: 107944 Weight: 5 lbs 4 oz

Vintage-inspired Electric-acoustic Delivers Classic Tone!

For guitarists searching for that classic, ultra-vintage vibe, feel, and tone, Danelectro offers yet another knockout in its "shorthorn" line: the Convertible. The Convertible is one of the very first hollowbody electric-acoustics ever offered to the playing public. It first appeared in 1959 as an "acoustic" that could be converted to an electric, complete with empty receiving holes for players to add wiring and hardware to make it an electric-acoustic. The Convertibles of today come wired and ready to plug in! Constructed from Danelectro's signature hardboard/plywood, the Convertible is lightweight and resonant unplugged or plugged in. The bolt-on maple neck cut to a "C" profile is beautifully responsive and playable. And with a classic Piezo bridge pickup and '56 soundhole single-coil lipstick pickup, you get the best of both worlds as you move between a more acoustic sound to a more electric sound. Guitarists here love the Convertible!

Best of both worlds

The '56 lipstick single-coil in the soundhole of the Convertible is a passive pickup with a coil wrapped around an Alnico VI magnet and then wrapped in tape. This pickup harkens back to the early days of rock-n-roll with a vintage, jangly, midrange punch and treble kick — ideal for rockabilly, country, or just good old rock-n-roll. The somewhat warmer Piezo bridge pickup complements the lipstick nicely as you switch back and forth. Or, when you are feeling adventurous — and we highly recommend adventure — you can combine the pickups with the "blend" control on the Convertible. Master volume and tone controls also give you additional tone-shaping options.

Legends love Danelectro

Plug in the Convertible and experience the tone, feel, and vibe that has made Danelectro guitars a much sought-after instrument in the world of rock-n-roll. A wide range of legendary guitarists from Mark Knopfler to Jimmy Page has used Danelectros both on stage and in the recording studio for the truly unique tone they deliver.
