Baroque Deco Parlor Guitar 1920s - Natural

Very Unique Baroque/Romantic style Parlor Guitar with Art Deco appointments.

Beautiful sounding and playing instrument from the 20s or 30s ? with high quality woods and craftmanship. A fine guitar indeed!

This guitar came from Germany but the origin as to where and who made it, is not known. So a beautiful mystery guitar!

Specs:

24 1/8" Scale from Nut to Saddle.

17 frets total joins the body at the 11 fret.

Neck - maple one piece with separate Cone shaped wood at heel. Ebony fretboard and headstock cap. Tuners are Caspari made of Rosewood and brass.( very nice top of the line peg style tuners)

Fretboard rests on the guitar top.

Top - Solid Spruce with Mahogany or Rosewood Deco carved soundhole appointment.

Sides - Solid Maple.

Back - Solid one piece Maple.

Bridge - Ebony with Ebony bridge pins and a Solid Copper wire saddle.( Pins are new)

Nut - Bone

The playability of the guitar is excellent with a very responsive feel. The tone is bright and loud.

The action is low and the neck is a very comfortable U/C shape.

The guitar does need some work done. You can see in the photos that the braces have pushed against the back of the guitar and will need attention as they have made cracks pushing against the back of the guitar. This should be reset, clamped and glued for stability. Also there is a crack on the top from the bridge that needs gluing and a cleat inside.

I tuned the guitar to D for the video to show the sound to avoid any damage.

This is a very unique fine instrument that was played a lot. The fretboard has some wear in the first position but otherwise is very good. At some point someone also tried to add varnish to the body of the guitar but this looks to have been done decades ago.

This guitar is very fine instrument definitely worthy of having the repairs done and enjoyed for many more years to come.

This guitar comes with a vintage case that was customized to fit this guitar.
