The legend lives on

The Songwriter 30 was one of the last Trainwreck® designs by the legendary Kenneth Fischer. Due to his failing health, Ken was only able to build two of these great hand-wired amps. Komet Amplification has been granted a licence by Trainwreck® to recreate the Songwriter 30 down to the smallest detail.

Unique

‘Bree’, one of the two original Trainwreck® Songwriter amplifiers, was our reference amplifier. Each new Songwriter 30 is meticulously hand-built and customised with the characteristic sound of ‘Bree’. It is powered by a quartet of cathode-biased EL84/6BQ5 output tubes. The preamplifier consists of two 12AX7 tubes. It is assembled and wired by hand in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA, using only the best sounding and most reliable components.

No trends. Simply soul

No reverb, master volume, effects loop, footswitches, pull pots, transistors or chips. The chassis is made of solid aluminium - chosen for its special electrical properties. Inside the chassis you will not find any printed circuits, cotton/cotton imitation wires or fibre tag boards. We don't use obsolete or dodgy materials to be ‘fashionable’.

Komet shares Ken Fischer's ideal of what makes a great guitar amplifier. All Komet™ designs that followed the Komet 60 are based on what we learnt from Ken Fischer's mentorship. Sadly, Ken Fischer passed away in December 2006, we miss his guidance, friendship and humour, and we are honoured to be part of the Trainwreck line.
