Up for sale is a vintage 1970s Univox P-Bass that has been tastefully “Frankensteined” into an absolute killer player’s bass while still retaining tons of vintage Japanese character. Featuring an upgraded pickup and a hand-cut custom pickguard, this bass delivers huge, fat vintage tone with serious old-school Precision-style thump.

The upgraded pickup sounds massive — warm, punchy, and full, very much in the territory of a true vintage Fender P-Bass. Combined with the excellent Japanese craftsmanship Univox instruments are known for, especially in the neck construction, this bass feels incredibly solid and inspiring to play.

The neck is straight, comfortable, and plays fantastically up and down the board. Lightweight, resonant, and full of vibe, this is the kind of bass that immediately sits right in a mix.

Includes the original Univox-badged hard-shell case, which is a great bonus and is becoming increasingly hard to find with these instruments.

Good vintage condition with honest signs of age and use throughout, including minor surface scratches, scuffs, tarnished hardware, a loose strap screw, and a couple of small finish nicks on the body, as pictured. Typical cosmetic wear for an instrument of this age. Fully functional and plays great with a straight neck and strong vintage tone.
