This is one of the finest examples of the legendary Kurzweil 250 synthesizer. It was the world’s first workstation with an advanced built-in 12 track sequencer, making it a total game changer back in the 80s. And the sound? The extremely precise and high quality samples STILL set it apart from the cheap ROMplers of today.

This belongs to acclaimed film composer and record producer, Fred Mollin. This was the K250 that was used on Friday the 13th, The Series, as well as many other TV shows and films. This was used exclusively in his recording studio and never toured. Fred's gear was well-kept and this is no exception. I looked over the machine and didn't see any scratches. The nicest one I've seen since the 80s. Pretty much a museum piece. Some of the “specs” in the pictures are either light anomalies or dust. The area it was photographed in was not ideal, unfortunately.

I must mention that the “detent” sliders are not in perfect shape, after years of use. Unfortunately, these have been discontinued. There are folks in the K250 community actively working on a fix for this. There is a solution coming for new sliders!
