PRS Hollowbody II Piezo Electric Guitar - Faded Blue Jean
Serial Number: 0399538 , Weight: 5 Lbs. 6 Ozs.
A Hollowbody Workhorse for the Studio and Stage
With the PRS Hollowbody II Piezo, you'll revel in amazingly versatile electric and acoustic tones, served with a side of sumptuous visuals. For this model, the design features a solid figured maple top, a solid maple back, and mahogany for the sides, leaving the interior completely hollow. Paired with the 1-piece mahogany neck, the guitar produces a bright and lively sound with sweet sustain. And when you plug in, two 58/15 LT humbuckers deliver that coveted late ’50s humbucker tone with the clarity modern musicians rely on. Still, that’s not all this axe can do. When you need acoustic tones, flip the toggle switch, and the piezo elements in each bridge saddle supply the goods right away. Other favorite features are Phase III locking tuners for improved tuning stability and eye-catching hybrid hardware. In conclusion, the Hollowbody II Piezo is a one-stop shop for versatile tones and fantastic playability.
A bracing method like no other
For the Hollowbody II Piezo, PRS decided to ditch the traditional glued-in bracing found on almost every other hollowbody electric guitar. Instead, the luthiers at PRS carved the bracing into the top and back. How does that work? It all starts with an extra-thick slab of figured maple. Once the outside is carved into shape, it’s flipped over and all excess material is removed, except for where braces would be attached. The back is shaped and “braced” the same way, albeit with a slightly modified bracing pattern. This construction method helps the guitar resonate better and sustain like a champ. Plus, you’ll never have to worry about a brace shaking loose decades down the line.
Piezo bridge with dedicated output
The Hollowbody II Piezo includes PRS’s adjustable bridge with an integrated piezo system. Developed in collaboration with LR Baggs, this proprietary design features an isolated piezo element in each saddle for acoustic-style tones whenever you need them. And with the integrated 3-way piezo toggle, you can switch between using the piezo only, both the piezo and the pickups, or just the pickups. The blend knob balances each of the signals to taste. However, when you plug into the dedicated piezo output, the blend knob becomes a master volume for the piezo system only.
