NOS Vintage Preh Brand Made In West Germany 6 Pin DIN Jack  for Hidden Distortion Vox Amps

Background: Vintage transistor Thomas Organ Amps with the distortion feature "CANNOT" be activated without a 4 Button or 5 Button foot switch as the Distortion is a hidden feature. Here is a simple solution to activate your hidden distortion feature without spending a ton of money on a 4 pin or 5 pin foot pedal.  Your Distortion Feature must be functioning as this switch only activates it if it is in working condition.

Note: We Quadruple Check our build for continuity. If your Distortion Feature does not activate with this switch, it is not our switch but your amp!  Have a tech on the back of your amp use a jumper wire from Pin #2 to Ground, if this activates your distortion then this switch will work. 

Vintage Preh Din Jacks:  We acquired a large quantity of OEM 1960s NOS German Made brass nickel plated 6 pin Din Jack from of all places the Whirlpool Corporation Parts Distribution.  When Thomas Organ went out of business it was Whirlpool who purchased the remaining stock and parts. Preh was the German Brand used by Thomas Organ for their Vox foot switches. Although these are New Old Stock, there are signs of very minor blemishes from storage all these years with other Din Jacks but hard to tell.  

This build works just like a foot switch and is "SAFE" for all Thomas Organ Vox amps with the distortion feature. Just plug this into your amp and PRESTO! Push the red latching switch to activate the "Distortion" feature of your Series 90, V1143, V1142, V1141 Super Beatle, All Royal Guardsman, All Buckingham and All Viscount. 

Note:  This will NOT work with Vox amplifiers made in England by JMI - Rose Morris - VSE - Rolls Royce etc.  It must be a Transistor "Thomas Organ" VOX product made in Sepulveda California.

It Can Stay Plugged Into the back of your amp:  A compact bullet switch that takes up virtually no space and can remain plugged into the head or amp. This is a latching switch so you "Push Once" to activate and "Push Again" to de-activate “Distortion” feature. The only way to activate the hidden distortion feature is with an original foot switch or the Bullet Switch.

Techs:  This is a latching switch. Push Once = Off, Push again = On. There are two contacts: Pin 2 is the "Distortion" contact and the ground contact is the barrel / sleeve.  The backside of pin 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 have been clipped at base and removed to accommodate wires. Safe on all large Vox Thomas Organ amps with 6 pin din.
