With over 45 years as a Martin dealer, we’ve had the privilege of accessing some of the finest materials available.
This model features rare sinker mahogany back and sides, paired with a stunning Bearclaw spruce top. Drawing inspiration from the legendary 000-18, we elevated the design with premium wood sets and vintage hide glue construction for an authentic, old-school touch.
Tonally, this guitar is nothing short of outstanding. It delivers a deep, rich resonance, reminiscent of a well-aged vintage instrument, while still offering impressive volume for its smaller body size. Simply put—we’re impressed.
Sinker mahogany, reclaimed from riverbeds where it has been submerged for decades or even centuries, offers unique tonal characteristics that set it apart from traditional mahogany. Here’s what to expect from a guitar featuring sinker mahogany:
Enhanced Warmth and Depth – Like traditional mahogany, sinker mahogany delivers a warm, woody tone, but the aging and mineral absorption from the water often contribute to a richer, more complex sound.
Increased Resonance and Sustain – The density and structural changes from years underwater can enhance the wood’s resonance, leading to greater sustain and harmonic depth.
