Documents: Gibson factory's papers Description:  Offered for sale this exquisite guitar Gibson Custom Shop Archive Series Theodore VOS Cherry color, manufactured in 2022 in USA. It has an alder body with a walnut center strip, and one piece mahogany set neck with a nice rosewood fretboard with sparkling pearl dot inlays. The guitar comes with a Gibson Custom Shop brown hardshell case and factory's Gibson papers. This very special Archive Collection run is limited to just 318 total instruments offered in three colors: Natural, Cherry, and Ebony, so only 106 were finished in Cherry. March 18th, 1957, Ted detailed and signed his drawing for a new solid body instrument which was never produced…until now. Gibson Custom Shop is proud to present the "Theodore," inspired by Ted McCarty's original drawing and notes. This is one of those instruments that just begs to be played! The Theodore sports a number of distinctive features, including the tulip-shaped (double Florentine cutaways) slab alder body with walnut center strip and scimitar headstock, and this guitar has great natural resonance and a smooth, balanced quality for the pickup pair. The P-90s offer a glassy treble cut, excellent articulation and plenty of rich midrange bark. The development of the two Custom Soapbar P-90 pickups was given special attention in the Gibson Custom Shop, so that their sound comes close to the old originals from the 50s. You can't get more authentic vintage P-90 sound! Featherweight at 6.5 lbs (3 kg), Last but not least, a hand-wired circuit and historically correct Bumblebee capacitors contribute to this.
