I am offering here a Gibson '64 Trini Lopez Standard Reissue ES-335 from 2021, the made in the custom shop in Nashville, Tennessee (USA), legendary semi-acoustic '60s signature model by US singer and guitarist Trini Lopez with top, back and sides made of maple/poplar/maple laminate including solid maple center block, set mahogany neck with Authentic '64 medium “C” neck profile and 42.9 mm nut width, bound Indian rosewood fingerboard with split diamond inlays, two warm-sounding Gibson custombucker Alnico III (unpotted) humbucker pickups with hand-wired electronics, high-quality Gibson ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge and Diamond trapeze tailpiece with Trini Lopez insert in a beautiful ebony high-gloss VOS nitro finish with characteristic diamond sound holes and Firebird headstock in excellent condition, including black Gibson luxury hardshell case, all manufacturer's papers and professional setup with 10-gauge Elixir strings.

There are only a few Gibson ES-335 semi-hollows as well known as Trini Lopez's signature model. This detailed Trini Lopez 1964 ES-335 Standard Reissue, made at the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee, is an authentic reproduction of the signature guitar that Gibson made for the popular guitarist, singer and actor in the wild sixties. The model features the characteristic diamond F-holes, an oversized Firebird headstock and the diamond trapezoid tailpiece made of nickel with a Trini Lopez wood inlay. Together with the authentically aged VOS finish in Ebony, including slightly tarnished hardware, the single-layer cream bindings and the aged split diamond inlays in the dark rosewood fingerboard, the unique appearance is created, which “is just as exciting as the young performer himself who helped design it in 1964”.

With tight lows, singing highs and detailed mids, the Gibson custombucker pickups with Alnico III magnets, combined with the handwired electronics including paper-in-oil capacitors and CTS pots, give this Trini Lopez 1964 ES-335 the sound of the PAFs in their heyday. The warm, woody tone is very versatile and is ideal for everything from blues and rock to jazz and funk.

The slightly chunkier Authentic '64 Medium “C” neck profile feels very comfortably in the hand immediately and, with a 42.9mm nut width and short 628.6mm scale length, allows for easy playability.

The guitar is in excellent original condition and is technically flawless. Visually, the instrument shows only occasional fine wear, which integrates seamlessly into the intended VOS factory aging (see pictures). The frets are flawless.
