A piece of recording history. This original Teletronix LA-2A Rev B, serial #1683, was part of Paul Allen’s legendary Vulcan Studios in Seattle. It’s one of the most iconic optical compressors ever built, made in North Hollywood, California by United Recording Electronics Industries.

This unit is in beautiful condition and sounds absolutely stunning. It has been rack-mounted in my smoke-free studio since its time at Vulcan and gear was always expertly maintained there. All original UTC transformers are intact, and the T4 opto cell was serviced by ADL in 95 to ensure top performance. Inside and out, it reflects the build quality and sonic magic that made the LA-2A a legend on vocals, bass, and everything in between.
