After my search for a SG2000 was halted due to owners complaining about the 9.5 lb weight, I bought this beauty in December 2016. It came from an owner here on Reverb, and my plan was to play out with it. At the same time a Santana PRS SE (cherry sunburst, my fav) became available, which accidentally introduced me to 24.5" scale.
Long story short, my aged hands immediately fell in love with the string tension difference, and I stopped playing anything except the PRS. So other than some jamming here at home, the Yamaha never left the house. As usual, item is as described, all sales are final and if you have questions or need add. pix, please let me know...Glen
Here's what the Internet says about the SGB-1200...
"The Yamaha SBG-1200 was manufactured between 1982 and 1986. It was a U.S.-market version of the earlier SG1000 model from the 1970s. The name of the models intended for the US market were changed to SBG (solid body guitar) because Gibson put pressure on the Yamaha manufacturer to help protect their SG name. The last year of production of these models was 1986, after Yamaha focused on the RG series. The Yamaha SBG-1200 features a rosewood neck, a light weight mahogany body and the LP style carved maple top. The SBG-1200's two pickups are essentially the same as those in the SBG-2000 but without the lid – for sharper highs and more punch. There is a scroll tap switch, smooth linear volume and tone control."
