Not sure why this isn’t working, but about a year ago I plugged it into a pre and got no signal. Tried another cable, no signal. Tried another pre, no signal. Then I tried a different SM57 into the same pres with same cables, and did get signal, so I know it's this mic. Just tried it again, still no signal. Maybe it was dropped? I don’t recall an acute moment where this might have broken, but alas, no signal.
The cosmetic condition of the mic body itself is wonderful, damn-near brand new. Nary a scratch.
I should note that I did open it up and de-solder the wires and then put them back together to see if that would fix it (in case a wire was loose or something, I don't know), and I unscrewed the screw to the board and popped the board out but put it back together within a minute or so since I realized I had no clue what I was looking at and this goes beyond my pay grade. I really have no insight as to what's actually wrong with the thing. Could be the capsule, could be the transformer. I'm pricing this competitively (free shipping) with the understanding that you'll have to be the one to determine the issue.
