Now, for the first time, the RD Custom joins the Gibson Custom core lineup, bringing its cult-classic design into the modern era. Not only is this the first RD built by the Custom Shop, but it's also the first 25.5” scale solidbody model in Gibson Custom’s lineup. That longer scale length makes it a killer option for drop tunings, extended range, or simply adding a little more snap to your sound.

The RD Custom delivers the full Gibson Custom treatment, with a mahogany body, multi-ply binding, and Custom-level aesthetics—including gold hardware, a bound ebony fretboard with mother-of-pearl block inlays, and the iconic Custom split diamond headstock inlay. A rear tummy cut ensures extra comfort, while the Medium C mahogany neck with a long tenon construction gives you rock-solid sustain and effortless playability. Under the hood, a set of 490R and 498T pickups dish out everything from smooth cleans to searing overdrive, with CTS potentiometers and a hand-wired harness for that pure vintage tone.
