Vintage 1966 Kay K-312 Value Leader Electric Guitar!

Up for sale is this vintage 1966 Kay K-312 Value Leader electric guitar. This one, as is typical with these, could use some love and is being offered "AS IS" and "AS FOUND".

It looks to be all original and is in nice cosmetic condition, showing some wear that you would expect from a sixty year old instrument including some finish checking and some nicks, dings, scratches, and scuffs. Overall, it's held up well though, including the plastics which are completely intact.

The electronics have just been sprayed out and tested and everything works as it should, including both original pots and the under-guard pickup.

This one, as is typical, has a twist (relief on the bass side, straight on the treble side). The truss rod does work, but will of course not even out the twist. We haven't went forward with a set up on this one, but some tweaking and a neck shim would improve it but it's not going to be perfect without some love. Fortunately, perfection isn't what we really go for with these old Kay instruments. As it sits, it's playable, but the action is high.

No case or gig bag is included, but the instrument will be well-packed to ensure safe shipping. If you're looking for a nice example of one of these K-310's and need a project to keep you busy or to practice some of those heavier-hitting repair skills, here's a golden opportunity...
