This is a modified clone of the first ever commercially available Fetzer Valve pedal circuits from Kasha's 'Guitar Distortion' build. Discontinued years ago, this circuit is now revived as modified to provide easier access to the "Turbo" (Scream) feature used in the original pedal - using a second stomp switch instead of a toggle. The number of distortion level options is also increased from 4 to 6.
This distortion circuit uses no clipping diodes and is in fact one of the simplest & most elegant distortion circuits in existence. The "Scream" (Turbo) mode boosts the signal by about 18db to 24db, depending on the "Emotion" (Option) setting. At the 'Calm' setting, the distortion is nearly unperceivable and increases all the way to an aggressive breakup distortion at 'Angry'.
This circuit works very well with most any passive pickup (untested with active pickups) and drives both solid state and tube amps into that "breakup" territory.
Uses +9V, 2.1mm negative-center DC jack. Power supply not included.
