This traditional D-14 Fret Dreadnought acoustic guitar is made from the finest materials and has an exceptionally tasteful, timeless look. The instruments from Martin's flagship 45 series – guitars with a Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, and the maximum amount of ornamentation – have been an integral part of Martin for nine decades. Since its introduction in 1933, the D-45 has remained essentially unchanged and has been played by some of the most famous guitarists, from Neil Young to Roger Waters to John Mayer.

When selecting the top wood, you can tell that expertise and experience are directly incorporated into Martin's guitar making. A finely resonating Sitka spruce top provides a bright and powerful sound experience, especially in the mid and high frequencies, with numerous overtones that resonate for a long time. Due to its strong resonance, the top, in combination with the Scalloped Forward Shifted X-Bracing, builds up an incomparable dynamic that impressively accentuates both classic strumming and picking.

The Indian rosewood back and sides also provide clear, cleanly defined bass for three-dimensional sonic depth. This allows the guitar to produce the characteristically voluminous orchestral tone, which nevertheless conveys a warm touch.

The combination of the classic 645mm scale length, the 44.4mm bone nut, the modified low oval profile neck and the finest ebony fingerboard ensures a comfortable playing experience.

Visually, the guitar impresses at first glance with the slightly aged natural high-gloss finish combined with the richly ornamented details in abalone, mother-of-pearl and precious woods.

This guitar is in mint condition, extremely well cared for and technically flawless. Visually, if at all, only with the finest occasional wear (see pictures). The frets are flawless.
