About the Artist:

Juliana Nesci is a self-taught artist with a passion for drawing and painting.
As a teenager, she created wonderful landscapes of both fictional and actual locations.

Although Juliana favors nature, her origins were in portraiture. While in high school, using water colors, she
entered an art contest with a painting of Isabella Rossellini. She won second place and received accolades
while enjoying the exhibition of her portrait at a New Haven gallery for several weeks. Her art has always
been a part of her life and a solace to which she would turn. Juliana’s specialty has been in landscapes and
seascapes, often celebrating the common place where she finds the beauty in the world around her. Her
experience has been mostly using mediums of oil and acrylic on various surfaces such as canvas, wood cuttings,
gift boxes, and musical instrument cases. The last is a reflection of her philosophy that
music and painting are complimentary; “one does not go without the other”.

Juliana resides in Connecticut with her husband, daughter, and dog Penny. Having enjoyed taking long walks
with her father, Juliana drew inspiration for painting the beauty in nature. She has been a licensed hairdresser
and cosmetologist for over 30 years and has enjoyed every minute of it. Juliana also went to school for fashion
design having created several of her own original patterns and bridal gowns. In addition to the beauty industry,
Juliana is also a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography. She was also a medical assistant and
eventually manager in a medical practice with her husband. One of Juliana’s greatest accomplishments in her
eyes, is having been a homeschooling mother.

Juliana has always found time to paint and having been raised in a military family, her art has been influenced by
many areas of the United States. She has absorbed the landscapes of the varying locations she’s lived in over the
years and has stamped those experiences into the canvas. She enjoys family life and finds every opportunity to
spend time with them. She enjoys singing and playing the guitar as well as cooking creative meals. Juliana finds
great inspiration in being able to capture a moment in time that she can share with others around her. Her
passion drives her to share the essence of beauty in its simplicity, and her wish is to “Paint the world with love!”
