1937 Martin 000-28 Herringbone - serial 66652

This is a monster sounding, original instrument from one of Martin's finest production year for this particular model.

A true "Pre War" icon, the guitar his in great conditions, although a few repairs have been performed in its 88 years journey, and here's the detailed list after the professional appraisal of the guitar performed by renowned Luthiers Bagnasco & Casati:

- Bracing: all original and unmolested, including the bridge plate

- ⁠⁠Action (measured from the top of the fret to the bottom of the string): 2.5 mm @ the 6th string; 1.7 mm @ the 1st string

•⁠ ⁠Bridge is a slightly oversized replacement, a bit low and flat in shape on the top. Measured height from the top (in mm): 6.5 mm under the 1st string; 7 mm in the center; 7 mm under the 6th string

•⁠ ⁠Saddle: 2 mm under the 1st string; 3 mm in the center; 3 mm under the 6th string

•⁠ ⁠String height from the top: 9 mm at the 1st string; 10 mm at the 6th string

•⁠ 2 top cracks: one (7 cm) next to the fingerboard on the treble side, closed and stable. One (10 cm) running up from the tail on the treble side, just next to the end block, closed and stable.

•⁠ 2 back cracks: both repaired and stable. One running along the left side of the zigzag backstrip for the full length of the back; the other (7 cm) starts at the tail and runs parallel to the first, to its left

•⁠ ⁠Finish touch-up on the top where there’s a shadow of a possible old "belly-up" bridge, and likely local nitro overspray. Finish has been buffed and polished overall.

Aside from the above mentioned repairs, the instrument remains original and in great conditions, the internal bracing is in fantastic shape and the original finish shows no oversprays or refinished areas, except having being polished and except what has been noted above.
