1966 Ramirez Cedar/Cypress 1a

Superb example from the golden age of the Ramirez shop. The interior stamp indicates that one of the top Ramirez foremen, Miguel Malo Martinez, was responsible for its construction. Some of the finest cedar and cypress around. A breeze to play at 656mm--you can see that the neck is also in fantastic shape (check out how much saddle is left). The sound is wide open, fast, a lovely growl to it. See in the video--balance and clarity is excellent. I've had big frets put in for playability and the setup is perfect for classical playing.

It seems it was played so much in its early days that the fingerboard became worn in at places--those small indentations have been filled, and the guitar's been refinished. This means the guitar's been played in, and it responds like it it, but the look is pristine. I've tried to photograph the very few dents and dings, but you'll have to squint to see them. There are no visible cracks, though there's evidence of a small hairline split professionally repaired on the top (in the region of the golpeador photo).

This guitar was formerly owned by Scott Tennant and was played on LAGQ's "Latin" album.

It'll ship with a hard case. Lovely function from the Fustero tuners (I think!). Still has a golpeador to protect the top. I'm a professional guitarist who can vouch for each instrument I sell, and have put a few hundred dollars for frets/setup, so you can buy with confidence.
