Here is a great lap steel project I never got around to.

This 1940s Supro Lap Steel is missing it’s name badge, tuners, and pickup/bridge assembly. This listing is only for the body and case. The body is in pretty decent shape for 80 years old. I’ve included pics of the worst spots at two of the corners (I wonder if they happened at the same time). The only modification I can tell is somebody bolstered the nut.

The case is still functional despite its age. Geib really knew how to make ’em. All 3 latches work, and the handle is still attached. It’s flaking in some areas especially around the sides and bottom, but I would say it has life in it still. I left some dryer sheets in the case which improved on the ”old” smell, but did not eliminate it completely. I also gently cleaned it with some damp paper towels to get the top layer of 80 years of grime off. The last pic shows a dirty area next to a cleaned area. I‘ll leave it to the next owner if they want to get deeper in there, but I didn’t want to risk damage.
