Here is a pretty rare round-hole archtop guitar from the 1930's. It was sold at Sears under the Supertone brand name and was made in the second half of 1936 in Chicago, by Harmony. The guitar is missing it's pickguard (holes remain for the screws). The fingerboard has some shallow impressions in the first position that don't affect play. The back of the neck's finish is worn. There are light scratches, dings and buckle rash on the body. The painted binding has chips. The painted on fingerboard markers are worn, or in some cases, have worn off. The original tailpiece lost most of it's chrome plating and is now tarnished. We reset the guitar's neck, dressed the frets, attached shims under the original bridge for correct action as well as putting a shim under the original nut to raise it. The guitar, with it's beefy, soft-V neck plays easily. It has a dry, archtop tone, but, as in the case with oval hole mandolins, seems to have more sustain than an f-hole model. The guitar is in very good condition. No case, but will be packed for safe shipping.
