Super Rare and Desirable
Rudy Muck -17C- Cushion Rim
Trumpet Mouthpiece
All Plating Worn Off
Made c.1940's
Overall Good Condition
Offered from my personal collection:
Many of these mouthpieces have been in my possession for more than 35 years.
Offered is a super rare and desirable Rudy Muck -17C- trumpet mouthpiece. Cushion rim.
The condition is very good for a piece this age. There are only some scuffs and a little pitting on the shank. Unfortunately the plating is all worn off making it unplayable "as is" It will need some polishing and re-plating.
This is the info I could find on these mouthpieces.
The Rudy Muck 17C is most closely comparable to the Bach #7. The cup size is 16 mm and the cup depth is 11.99 mm. In the Parduba mouthpieces it most closely compares to the Harry James Model 5.5.
The Rudy Much catalog describes it as follows:
"Shallow Cup, Full Cushion Rim" and Width 1 7/64", Depth 44/64" Semi Shallow, Bowl Cup, Full Cushion Rim"
The mouthpiece us quite heavy giving it a deep resonance and the wide rim is very comfortable on the lips.
Vintage mouthpieces have so much personality.
Player or collector. Don't miss this one.
