The Special No. 3 was a high-ranking - and equally expensive - model in Suzuki's line-up during the 1960s and early 1970s. It was part of the "Special" series that targeted advanced and professional players. The Special No.3 model ranked behind the Special No. 4 and Special No. 5, which represented the absolute top of the company's line-up. The Special No. 3 was fully hand made using the traditional carving method and was distinguished by the selection of highest quality aged woods, precise workmanship, and superb tonal characteristics.
Despite its fractional size, this instrument has an excellent balance across the entire range, full basses, and rich overtones. It would be suitable for the serious student.
This violin is in excellent condition for its age and is play-ready. It comes with a brand new ultra-light case by Toyo Gakki and other accessories.
