Up for sale is my Purple Victory VX100 Super Kraken. The Supurple Kraken.
I can't believe I'm listing this, but I commissioned this amplifier for a special musical situation and took delivery near the end of 2019. Then the pandemic made sure to change the world and the project got shelved.
It's listed as "very good" to prevent any drama from the bourgeoisie.
This is not just a Super Kraken covered in purple tolex, the chassis is actually also powder coated purple from Victory.
I took delivery while living in my apartment in Queens, NY, then moved to a new apartment in suburban CT in 2020.
I use my Quad Cortex most of the time now and my VX Kraken for recording on occasion, but I've been keeping this amp for mostly sentimental reasons. It makes no sense to keep it anymore. I'm sure I'll regret it, but the future will decide that.
The amp has the original tubes which should be excellent. The amp easily has less than 100 hours of use, most of which just being powered up during down time while recording.
There's a short YouTube video linked to hear it in action.
Includes the footswitches, manual and covers.
I can be reached via message with questions.
I don't have the original boxes as keeping such large boxes stored in NYC wasn't practical, but will box and ship properly.
Item will ship as soon as humanly possible after payment clears.
*I am not a store. I don't have a return policy. The next paragraphs are important:
*Research the item if you're unsure of stuff.
It is described in 100% detail. If you know what this is, buy it and enjoy it. Again, I do not have a return policy. I am NOT a dealer, I'm an independent musician with bills. That's what Reverb was originally started for. So we could sell our gear to like-minded people. This money will go to Chase and Citibank, and whoever else, as soon as it hits my checking account. When I buy something used, if I don't like it, I resell it. Reverb has become like eBay and with all the actual retailers using it, buyers get this false sense of having the opportunity to buy stuff and just send it back if they don't like it. That may work for dealers, that's not how it works with private sellers.
You will not have any surprises. Buyer's remorse is real, but it's not my problem. I've experienced it, but I wouldn't dream of asking the person to take it back because I was excited when I clicked the "BUY NOW" button.
***I'm shocked by what shipping costs these days. USPS, FedEx, UPS, It makes no difference anymore. It's expensive. I wish I were zZounds or Musician's Friend, but I'm not. And nothing is "free". $60 with free shipping or $50 plus $10 shipping are the same thing.
I hope this doesn't put you off, but I'd rather avoid unnecessary drama after the fact. Thank you for your understanding.
